IMM Projects Receive International Recognition at the AIPH World Green City Awards

Projects submitted by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Parks and Gardens Department have achieved significant international recognition at the AIPH World Green City Awards, organized by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).
The AIPH World Green City Awards recognize cities that use nature-based solutions and green infrastructure to improve urban resilience, sustainability, and the quality of life for their residents, while showcasing outstanding urban greening initiatives from around the world.
Within this framework, the Sarıyer Büyükdere Atatürk Nursery and Gardening School Project has been selected as one of the three finalists in the “Living Green for Social Cohesion & Inclusive Communities” category, while the Büyükçekmece Lake Wildlife Park Phase I and Phase II Project has been awarded the Certificate of Merit.
Finalists in the “Living Green for Social Cohesion & Inclusive Communities” category:
- Project Community Garden of Maringá – Environmental and Productive Inclusion, Maringá, Brazil
- Sarıyer Büyükdere Atatürk Nursery and Gardening School Project, Istanbul, Türkiye
- Green City Chiang Rai – Plant Trees, Plant People, Chiang Rai, Thailand
The winner will be announced at the AIPH World Green City Awards Ceremony, to be held in Hong Kong on 29 October 2026.
These achievements once again demonstrate Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s commitment to developing innovative, sustainable, and nature-based urban projects that receive international recognition.
