Sustainable Tourism and Innovation Conference Held within the Scope of the INTERSMARTS Project

The INTERSMARTS project, carried out within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Cross-Border Cooperation Program, in which Istanbul Development Agency participated as a project partner, hosted an important conference that strengthened the vision of innovation and sustainability in regional tourism and service sectors. During the event, the tangible outputs, developed good practices, and success stories of the INTERSMARTS project to date were shared with the participants. The smart solutions developed throughout the project, sustainable tourism models, and approaches enhancing efficiency in the service sector were evaluated with broad participation. The key topics of the conference included the regional dissemination of sustainable tourism practices, the integration of innovative digital solutions into the sector, and interdisciplinary methods aimed at improving service quality. National and international experts shared their views on current trends and future needs in the sector, offering participants new perspectives. The event also addressed the INTERSMARTS Network, which will be established after the completion of the INTERSMARTS Project. Discussions focused on the long-term vision of the network, mechanisms to enhance sustainability, and collaboration across the region. The conference provided a comprehensive networking environment by bringing together public institutions, private sector representatives, academics, and civil society organizations from different countries. Participants had the opportunity to initiate new collaborations and deepen existing relationships.
