Mr. Nuri Aslan, Acting Mayor of Istanbul, attended the reception held aboard the Midshipmen Training Ship “Brasil”, anchored at Sarayburnu Port, on the occasion of Brazil’s National Day.

The reception was hosted by H.E. Gilda Motta Santos Neves, Ambassador of Brazil to Türkiye; Mr. Ruy Amaral, Consul General of Brazil in Istanbul; and Captain Ricardo Lima Maia, Commanding Officer of the Midshipmen Training Ship “Brasil”. Representatives of diplomatic missions based in Istanbul, representatives of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), military officials, and other guests attended the reception.

Mr. Aslan congratulated Brazil on its Independence Day and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Brazil. During the visit, accompanied by Captain Maia, Mr. Aslan toured the ship and received information about the vessel, the midshipmen undergoing training aboard, and the five-month Midshipmen Training Cruise.
