Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), paid a visit to Ms. Maria Christina Gracia Rola-McKernan, Consul General of the Philippines in Istanbul, on 25 August 2026.

During the meeting held within the scope of the courtesy visit, the existing relations between Istanbul and the Philippines were discussed, and potential areas of cooperation between local governments, particularly in cultural and institutional fields, were evaluated. The parties exchanged views on enhancing mutual contacts and developing concrete areas of cooperation.
