Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), welcomed Mr. Cláudio José Schooder, Mayor of Nova Odessa, Brazil on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.

During the meeting, discussions focused on cities’ digital transformation processes, smart city applications, and initiatives in the fields of culture and arts, while views were exchanged on potential cooperation opportunities that could be developed between Istanbul and Nova Odessa.

The meeting with Mayor Cláudio José Schooder concluded with the exchange of goodwill messages and a shared commitment to maintaining dialogue and strengthening relations in the future.

Following the meeting, Mr. Schooder visited Tech Istanbul, the entrepreneurship and technology center operating under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, where he received information about the center’s activities and ongoing projects.
