Visit to Polonezköy

Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), together with Mr. Mirosław Stawski, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Istanbul, held a series of meetings in Polonezköy.

Polonezköy, with its rich historical background and cultural heritage, stands as one of the key landmarks of Istanbul and Türkiye, continuing to serve as a symbolic center of the enduring friendship between Poland and Türkiye. In this context, IMM consistently maintains and develops its relations with the district’s deep-rooted Polish past.

During the visit, a meeting was also held with Mr. Özer Okumuş, Mukhtar of Polonezköy Neighborhood. In the meeting, the existing cooperation between Istanbul and Poland, as well as potential areas of future partnership, were discussed. The meeting emphasized the mutual goodwill of both parties towards further strengthening cultural and institutional relations.
