UP 2030
GRANT PROGRAM: Horizon Europe
OBJECTIVE: Global challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, pandemics, pollution, and irreversible depletion of natural resources require cities to make urgent and decisive systemic transitions towards climate neutrality, sustainability, and resilience in line with the European Green Deal. The project aims to identify, plan, design, finance, disseminate, and multiply solutions and measures to significantly reduce emissions in relevant sectors. Since current urban planning and design practices, governance arrangements, business models, and institutional environments do not tend to engage in systemic interventions compatible with holistic urban ecosystem planning and policy agendas, the project seeks to achieve climate neutrality, sustainability, and resilience in urban areas of different scales and qualities across Europe by 2030.
