GRANT PROGRAM: UNICEF

OBJECTIVE: Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and UNICEF plan to carry out a collaboration between 01.08.24 – 31.12.25 in order to support children’s development and strengthen their right to participation, where various training, workshops, and practical activities will be carried out.

There are 6 main activities within the scope of the collaboration:

• Supporting early childhood development activities
  Strengthening the capacities of professional staff, developing data collection mechanisms, planning training programs for the parental care process, etc.
• Encouraging the empowerment of adolescents through participation and engagement
  Supporting the right of adolescents to participate by strengthening the municipality’s participation mechanisms
• Developing a child-focused disaster and emergency response plan for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality
  Strengthening child protection capacity
  Increasing the scope and quality of the municipality’s child protection services through capacity building and supervision activities
• Increasing the capacity of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality to develop data and evidence-based programs and policies
  Expanding the data produced for children and the resources required for data collection
• Implementing the necessary services and interventions for children, adolescents, youth and their families affected by the earthquake
  Creating an Earthquake Emergency Response Program
