Site Visit Conducted for the Korean War Veterans and Martyrs Memorial

A site visit was organized to determine the location of the planned Korean War Veterans and Martyrs Memorial, which is planned to be built in Istanbul by the Consulate General of Korean Republic in Istanbul. The visit was attended by Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the IMM Department of Foreign Relations, Prof. Dr. Tuğba Ölmez Hancı, Head of the IMM Department of Parks and Gardens,; Mr. Woo Sung Lee, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Istanbul; executives of the Türkiye Korea Veterans Commemoration Community; and representatives from the relevant units of the IMM.

During the visit, the areas proposed by IMM for the memorial in Haliç and Kazlıçeşme were examined on site. Following the evaluations, the suitability of these locations was welcomed with satisfaction, and the visit concluded with the hope that the necessary technical work will be carried out in the next stages of the process.
