Polish Business Delegation Meets with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Departments

On May 27, 2025, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) hosted a Polish delegation composed of representatives from companies specializing in environmental technologies and energy transition. The delegation was led by Ms. Joanna Zdanowska, Deputy Director General of the Polish Ministry of Climate and Environment, and welcomed at the General Directorate of ISKI.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Witold Lesniak, Consul General of Poland in Istanbul. In his opening speech, Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of IMM’s Department of Foreign Relations, emphasized the long-standing ties between Türkiye and Poland and underlined IMM’s strong focus on learning from the experiences of cities worldwide, particularly in the fields of environment and sustainability.

The meeting brought together representatives from the General Directorate of ISKI, the Department of Information Technologies, the Department of Environmental Protection and Control, the Department of Agricultural Services, as well as from the General Directorates of İstanbul Enerji Inc., İSBAK Inc., İSTAÇ Inc., and KİPTAŞ Inc.

Representatives from Polish companies and IMM departments exchanged information about their respective work areas and discussed possible avenues for cooperation.

The meeting reinforced the belief that cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow, offering new opportunities for the implementation of green technologies and sustainable energy solutions in Istanbul.
