Mr. Büyüksağnak, Head of the Foreign Relations Department, Hosted Ms. Bartkevich, Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul

Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), hosted Ms. Yauheniya Bartkevich, Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul, on 18 March 2026. Mr. Ali Şafak Özdemir, Director of Libraries and Museums at IMM, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting held within the scope of the courtesy visit, information was shared regarding the cultural initiatives undertaken by the IMM. Within the framework of mutual assessments, potential opportunities for cooperation between Istanbul and Belarus, particularly in the fields of libraries, museums, and cultural heritage, were discussed.

During the meeting, sincere wishes were expressed regarding the development of institutional ties in the fields of culture and art and the strengthening of cooperation opportunities between the two sides in the coming period.
