Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of Department of Foreign Relations, emphasized the importance of city diplomacy and Istanbul’s leading role in this area at the student panel organized as part of the ART OF DIPLOMACY SUMMIT ’24 held at Marmara University.

In his speech, Büyüksağnak provided information on topics such as international activities carried out by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, memberships in different city networks, sister city relationships, cooperation protocols, and memoranda of understanding. He particularly noted that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which leads the Balkan Cities Network, strengthens cooperation in the region and assumes a leading role in city diplomacy.
