Meeting with the Cuban Consul General

Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, the Head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Foreign Relations Department and Permanent Secretary of the B40 Balkan Cities Network, hosted the Consul General of the Republic of Cuba in Istanbul, Mr. Raul Ernesto Madrigal Cárdenas, at his office on Monday, November 11. Mr. Büyüksağnak was briefed on the recent hurricane in Cuba on November 7 and the earthquake that struck on the morning of November 10, expressing his heartfelt condolences and well-wishes in response. During the meeting, potential collaborations between Istanbul and Cuban cities and institutions as well as potential partnerships for the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day events were discussed.

The meeting came to an end with the sharing of cooperation intentions to strengthen the friendship between Istanbul and Cuban institutions and to develop joint projects.
