IMM Acting Mayor Nuri Aslan Meets with Consuls General at Metrohan

The “Annual Meeting with Consuls General in Istanbul” was held on 9 December 2025 at Metrohan, under the auspices of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Acting Mayor Mr. Nuri Aslan, bringing together a large number of diplomatic representatives based in the city. The meeting aimed to strengthen Istanbul’s dialogue, deepen existing cooperation, and explore new areas of partnership. As one of the cities hosting the highest number of consulates general worldwide, Istanbul continues to serve as an important platform for sharing IMM’s city diplomacy efforts and maintaining regular engagement with international missions.

In his opening remarks, IMM Acting Mayor Mr. Nuri Aslan emphasized that Istanbul—through its cultural diversity, international visibility, and strong city diplomacy capacity—stands as one of the most prominent global hubs in the region. He underlined that IMM’s international collaborations will continue to expand, highlighting that joint initiatives ranging from culture and arts projects to humanitarian solidarity constitute the foundation of Istanbul’s global vision. Mr. Aslan also extended his appreciation to all participating consuls general for their contributions and commitment to cooperation, and conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Istanbul’s Elected Mayor, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu.
