‘PEACE’ CALL FROM IMAMOGLU QUOTING ATATURK: “WHAT OUR CITIES NEED IS PEACE AND SOLIDARITY”

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu spoke at the ‘Conference of Mayors of Mediterranean Cities’ held in Florence, Italy. Referring to the 34th verse of Surah Fussilet of the Holy Qur’an and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s quote ‘War is murder unless it is necessary for the existence of a nation’, Imamoglu said: “In such worrying times, the primary need of our cities is peace and solidarity. As a basin of peace and freedom, the Mediterranean region can sign a strong unity that will set an example for the whole world. And it should,” he emphasized.
