The Head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Foreign Relations Department and Permanent Secretary of the B40 Balkan Cities Network, Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, met with the Consul General of Serbia in Istanbul, Mr. Aleksandar Marjanović, at the consulate on Januray 22, 2025. The meeting focused on exploring cooperation opportunities between Istanbul and Serbian cities and addressing various topics of mutual interest.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the potential collaborations within the B40 Balkan Cities Network. Mr. Büyüksağnak emphasized the importance of Istanbul’s diplomatic relations with consulates and highlighted the significance of B40 in fostering regional cooperation.

The meeting also addressed opportunities to enhance economic and cultural cooperation, with a focus on trade and investment potential between Istanbul and Serbian cities, as well as sports and cultural events. The Consul General provided information on services offered to Serbian citizens, and steps to strengthen ties between Serbs living in Turkey and their homeland were discussed.

The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to cooperation, expressions of goodwill, and an exchange of gifts.
