Foreign Relations Units of Istanbul’s District Municipalities Came Together

The foreign relations officers of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and sixteen district municipalities gathered for a spring breakfast hosted by the Beyoğlu Municipality at the historic Terra Santa Monastery.

During the event, Head of the Foreign Relations Department Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation in the field of international relations between the Metropolitan Municipality and the district municipalities. He underlined that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality is always ready to support district municipalities in this field.

Following Mr. Büyüksağnak’s remarks, Mayor of Beyoğlu Mr. İnan Güney welcomed the participants and noted that Beyoğlu is one of the districts in Istanbul hosting the highest number of consulates, and thus maintains an intense and active agenda both in terms of relations with consuls general and international affairs.

As part of the event, participants engaged in consultations on potential collaborations and joint projects within the scope of international relations as well as funding and grant programs.
