Ekrem İmamoğlu Speaks At The Tırana Urban Forum

Ekrem İmamoğlu, President of the Union of Turkish Municipalities (TBB) and Mayor of Istanbul, delivered a speech at the “Tirana Urban Forum – Leadership for Livable Cities” organized by the B40 Balkan Cities Network, which he founded. İmamoğlu was invited to the stage by the B40 President, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj, who referred to him as “our mentor” and “our master.”

In his address, İmamoğlu emphasized the unique geography and strategic position of the Balkans, saying, “With its exceptional geography and strategic location, our region has always been a crossroads of civilizations. Despite its rich heritage, the Balkans have often been associated with conflict and known as the ‘powder keg of Europe.’ Today, we are rewriting this narrative. Together, we are presenting the Balkans as a rising star for investments, innovation, and cooperation.”
