OBJECTIVE: Effective management of decarbonization processes is of increasing importance for companies. However, manual processes in energy and carbon accounting, lack of data and inadequacies in current methods of emission accounting prevent these processes from being carried out correctly and transparently. These problems create significant obstacles for companies to achieve their sustainability goals and cause problems called greenwashing in carbon markets. DECARBIZ aims to eliminate these problems and develop software that automates carbon accounting, verification and management processes.

EUROGIA, operating under the umbrella of EUREKA—an intergovernmental initiative for the development of new technologies and projects—is leading R&D studies in the fields of green energy use and smart grids in smart cities, contributing to shaping the future energy vision of the European Union.
