PURPOSE: The aim of the project is to create an integrated artificial intelligence-based smart intersection management system that will reduce traffic congestion (greenhouse gas emissions and time wasted in traffic), reduce accidents and improve the quality of life of citizens. The project specifically addresses the “Future Mobility Challenge” of the EIT Urban Mobility innovation programme. As a requirement of this challenge, it proposes new artificial intelligence-based technologies to improve traffic flow, increase citizen safety, and increase user experience for both citizens and mobility.
