IMM EU Relations Directorate Visited Beykoz University

The meeting held on January 16, 2026, with Beykoz University began with an opening speech by Vice-Rector Baki Aksu. The meeting was organized to facilitate mutual introductions and assess potential collaboration opportunities, aiming to strengthen university–public sector cooperation and establish a joint working platform, particularly in European Union (EU) project processes. Academic and administrative staff from Beykoz University shared their experiences in EU projects, while the project coordinators from the EU Relations Directorate of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) provided information on the department’s areas of work, thematic priorities, and role in project development processes. In addition, EU grant and funding programs, application procedures, and the opportunities they offer for public–university cooperation were discussed.

During the continuation of the meeting, examples of ongoing and proposed projects at Beykoz University were shared, and thematic project ideas developed by different faculties were exchanged and discussed. The meeting was productive in terms of identifying potential joint project topics, clarifying thematic priorities, and strengthening the groundwork for future EU projects. Both parties agreed to maintain communication to further develop project ideas and transform them into concrete applications.
