Acting Mayor Mr. Nuri Aslan Presided over the Dispatch of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Humanitarian Aid Convoys to Gaza

Acting Mayor of the Istanbul, Mr. Nuri Aslan, expressed the solidarity of the people of Istanbul with the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza at the ceremony held in connection with the humanitarian aid shipment organized by the IMM for Gaza.

Pursuant to the resolution unanimously adopted by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly the aid consignment—comprising 1,000 food parcels, 600 blankets, and 600 pairs of orthopedic shoes—will be delivered to the region in close coordination with the Türk Kızılay. The said shipment constitutes a continuation of the first humanitarian assistance initiative to Gaza launched in March 2024 under the leadership of the Mayor of Istanbul, Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Acting Mayor Mr. Aslan stated that the support provided on the occasion of the approaching Holy Month of Ramadan once again demonstrates the IMM’s steadfast commitment to its humanitarian responsibility toward Palestine and Gaza. Acting Mayor Mr. Aslan further affirmed that Istanbul maintains its solidarity with the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza, and will continue its humanitarian contributions with a sense of continuity and responsibility.
