IMM Deputy Secretary General Ms. Akçabay met with Mr. Xiadong, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Istanbul

Deputy Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), Ms. Zeynep Neyza Akçabay, met with the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Istanbul, Mr. Wei Xiadong, on Friday, 6 February 2026. During the meeting, the Deputy Secretary General was accompanied by Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations, and Mr. Fahri Murat Tuncay, Director of the Foreign Relations.

During the meeting, pleasure was expressed regarding the strong relations between IMM and the cities and institutions of the PRC, and possible joint activities and projects to be carried out in 2026 were discussed. The meeting concluded with a mutual expression of goodwill regarding the further development of existing relations.
