Mr. Büyüksağnak, Head of the Foreign Relations Department, Hosted the Consul General of Malaysia in Istanbul

Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Head of the Foreign Relations Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), hosted the Consul General of Malaysia in Istanbul, Mr. Ahmed Amiri Abu Bakar, on 29 January 2026.

During the meeting held within the scope of the courtesy visit, information was shared regarding the institutional structure of IMM and the projects currently being implemented. Within the framework of mutual evaluations, Malaysia’s administrative structure and practices were discussed. The meeting also focused on potential areas of cooperation between Istanbul and Malaysia.

During the meeting, sincere wishes were expressed for the positive relations between the local administrations of the two countries to continue by growing stronger.
