Consul of the United Mexican States in Istanbul Visits Mr. Büyüksağnak

The newly appointed Consul of the United Mexican States in Istanbul, Mr. Alberto Fierro Garza, paid a courtesy call to Mr. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, the Head of Foreign Relations Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) on 9 September 2025.

During the meeting, the sister city relationship between Istanbul and Mexico City was discussed, along with existing collaborations between IMM and Mexican institutions, as well as potential areas for future cooperation. In addition, reflections on Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu’s visit to Mexico City in October 2024, within the scope of the “Bloomberg City Lab” event, were also addressed.

The meeting highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and the exchange of experiences, while emphasizing the commitment to provide all necessary support for the further development of friendly relations.
