Ekrem İmamoğlu Met with Consuls General

Ekrem İmamoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul, met with the heads of foreign missions working in Istanbul at the ‘Consuls General Meeting’. In his speech, İmamoğlu described Israel’s attack on the city of Rafah in Palestine as ‘inhuman’ and ‘beyond cruelty’, saying, “I call on the international community to make more efforts for peace. It is extremely disturbing that the international community is not taking a stronger stance on the tragedy happening in Gaza. The attitude displayed by much of the international community in the face of this tragedy threatens the possibility of global peace and stability, which should be built on legal and ethical values. The accumulation of universal human values we have achieved so far is being damaged,” he said.
